| Joanne Mehl is widely
known in equestrian circles, where her paintings grace
both private collections, galleries, and public venues.
Devoted to both art and horses her entire life, Joanne’s
work is a tribute to the beauty and passion of the world
she loves as a rider, dressage competitor, and horse owner.
A 1983 graduate with honors from
the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena,
Joanne’s primary focus
has been on the portraits of horses and their owners.
But as her clients all discover, Joanne’s knack for
capturing the personalities and affinities of horse and
rider are just as keenly evident in other subjects as well.
Whether it’s a recent cover
of Keeneland Magazine, a fifty-foot mural at a world-class
dressage facility, or a revealing oil portrait; Joanne
Mehl brings a lively sense of purpose and masterful talent
to every single work, with predictable results -- truly
fine art, and genuinely pleased clients.
(Joanne Mehl lives in Portland, Oregon,
with her husband, two dogs, two cats, and a 17-hand warmblood
named Espresso. When she is not painting or riding, she
can be found vacuuming.)
