“View of Ha’ena from Kenomene Beach” 7 x 9, oil on panel

This is the famous “Bali Hai” view (this location was used in the movie South Pacific) seen from a small cove below Princeville Ranch. The color of the water is really that color turquoise when the sun comes out. The intensity of the colors can be overwhelming and inspiring. The weather was pretty changeable and I got rained out once, with all my gear getting soaked through and the paint actually washing off my panel. I learned the value of wet painting carriers on this trip.
