This is a vintage (!) illustration that I did in 1996 for a horse magazine article about riding your dressage horse outside the arena. Yes……I am now old enough to have created works as an adult that would now be considered vintage! It’s a strange thought for me, I admit. ANYWAY…moving on. As I said, this piece was about riding your Dressage horse outside the arena, something I do often and believe in absolutely as a horsewoman. This piece is somewhat stylized, which was my illustration style at the time, and it is painted in gouache, which lends itself to strong color. It also has a varnish coat on it which creates a semi-gloss finish, and not the usual flat finish of gouache paint. In spite of the varnish, this painting should always be framed behind glass.

This Painting is sold unframed.
