Morning Haze, Hanalei, Kauai, 6 x 8

I never get tired of painting this view of Ha’ena from Kenomene Beach. On this trip we had rain and clouds, which made the view hazy and the colors muted. The turquoise color of the water, always so unbelievable, was pale, reflecting the sky’s gentler mood after the heat of Summer.

What do sailboats think about when not plying the waves? I think they dream of their next adventures while waiting patiently to be put into the water. Here is my painting of two Sailboats dreaming while awaiting their next adventures on the beach at Hanalei.

Post-hunt, these foxhounds descended on an inviting pond to quench their thirst. I thought it was quite a cheerful scene, especially with all those wagging arced tails, like corsairs bobbing across a rippling sea. SOLD

It was a cool, crisp morning in Virginias hunt country, with the clear light streaking across the still foggy pastures. The riders were slowly wending their way to the kennels, pausing on occasion with the mists slowly lifting behind. It was a fine morning with the entire day ahead, what could be better?
