Trees, firs, rivers, forest. These are iconic images of the Pacific Northwest and are an integral part of the Portland, Oregon landscape. Painting en plein air in Portland is typically pleasant with moderate temperatures, abundant shade (depending, of course on where you are), and fewer bugs. This painting was a pleasure to work on for the above reasons. Setting up on the shaded shore of the Willamette River and capturing it’s beauty and serenity is one of my favorite things to do here in Oregon.
