First Summer, Gouache on Acid Free board, 6 x 8 (15 x 17 Framed)

I was struck by the interaction between this mare and foal. Certainly it was not unusual to see such affection between a mother and baby, but I wanted to capture this close relationship where they were so clearly each others whole world, and suddenly they are aware of being observed by the viewer.

“Happy Hour”, gouache, 10 x 8

Post-hunt, these foxhounds descended on an inviting pond to quench their thirst. I thought it was quite a cheerful scene, especially with all those wagging arced tails, like corsairs bobbing across a rippling sea. SOLD

“Lifting Fog”, oil on panel, 23 x 16

It was a cool, crisp morning in Virginias hunt country, with the clear light streaking across the still foggy pastures. The riders were slowly wending their way to the kennels, pausing on occasion with the mists slowly lifting behind. It was a fine morning with the entire day ahead, what could be better?
